The Maggie Allesee Department of Dance enjoys four dance studios, including the Maggie Allesee Studio Theatre (MAST) in the recently remodeled Old Main Building in the center of campus and the Detroit Cultural District. In addition, the department’s comprehensive Pilates Program is housed in its fully-equipped Pilates Studio; the newly-opened Dance Media Center serves as the dance department’s dedicated state-of-the-art space for technology-enhanced artistry and educational outcomes. Formal concert performances are often presented at Wayne State’s historic Bonstelle Theatre, the campus’ Community Arts Auditorium, as well as Detroit’s Music Hall and Detroit Institute of Arts.
